Airplane-sized Asteroid, 140 feet in Diameter, Approaching Earth

NASA has released a critical alert regarding asteroid 2024 PQ5, a near-Earth object that is predicted to close in on Earth. To keep an eye on these NEOs, NASA works with other space agencies and has an extensive telescope network and sophisticated computer systems. Although the majority of these objects are not dangerous, those that are larger than 460 feet (140 meters) and that are within 7.5 million kilometres of Earth are examined more closely.
